Privacy
Privacy policy
What this site knows about you (almost nothing), why, and your rights. Updated October 2026.
In short
We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies, we don’t track what you do on the site, and we never sell or share data. We only process the data you choose to send us.
Who is responsible
The coordination of the Direito à Habitação campaign. For any question about your data, email contacto@habitacao.bytetoit.com.
What data we process, and why
- Visiting the site. Like any website, the server logs the IP address, browser and pages requested. These logs are used only for security and to fix faults, are kept for a short time and are never used to build profiles.
- Writing to us. If you email us, we use your name, address and message only to reply and, if you ask, to put you in touch with a group near you. We delete them when they are no longer needed or whenever you ask.
- Accounts for associations and collectives. To publish on the site, each person has an account with their name, email, password (stored encrypted) and the organisation they belong to. What they publish appears under the organisation’s name. Accounts are closed when someone leaves or asks.
- What gets published. Protests and news are public information. Groups must not publish other people’s personal data without their consent.
Cookies
If you are just visiting, the site does not set any cookies: the language is chosen from the address (/en/, /es/…). People who log in to publish receive the WordPress session cookies, which are needed to stay logged in and are deleted when they log out.
External services
The pages load nothing from other companies: fonts and images are served from our own server. Some links take you to other sites (the map on OpenStreetMap, the ILC pela Habitação survey on CryptPad, Instagram, the websites of other organisations). Once you follow them, their own privacy policies apply. The calendar file (.ics) is downloaded to your device and is not shared with anyone.
Who has access
Only the campaign coordination and the hosting company, which processes data solely on our behalf. We do not sell, rent or share data with anyone else.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw any consent you gave. Write to contacto@habitacao.bytetoit.com and we will reply within one month. You can also complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).
Security
The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Each person who publishes has their own account, with access only to what their organisation needs.
Changes and translations
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of the page. It was written in Portuguese; translations are there to make it easier to read, and if in doubt the Portuguese version applies.
